Olympiakos is threatened with expulsion by Greece’s elite, reports SDNA. There are charges against the club for participating in a resolved game.
The Greek Football Federation Ethics Committee has proposed removing Olympiakos from the elite for a match with Atromitos in February 2015. The duel ended with a 2-1 victory for the Piraeus Grand Prix, which won a record of 44 titles.
Olympiakos Evangelos Marinaki, the owner, is threatened with being expelled from football for his entire life. The businessman, who also owns English Nottingham, was recently diagnosed with COVID-19.
It is estimated that the clubs involved will be fined up to 3 million euros.
The Ethics Committee has been investigating the case for six months. A total of 15 people were questioned, including the owners of the two clubs, former Greek Federation President George Saris, and six judges. Ricardo Sa Pinto, who was the coach of Atromitos during the 2014/15 season, is also expected to be questioned.
Before the playoffs in Greece, Olympiakos was the leader in the standings with 66 points.
