Walking in parks and gardens is still prohibited. At my suggestion, at the Sofia headquarters, we are preparing the organization and rules for the gradual opening of large parks, first, only for small children’s rides at certain times.

This was announced by Mayor Yordanka Fandakova on Facebook. Tomorrow, teams from the Sofia Municipality Emergency Directorate, volunteers from the municipal formation and the police will carry out training on the implementation of the terrain of the organization established in South Park.

The routes that have been prepared will be verified to avoid the crossing of currents and the disturbance of the required distance. No citizen is involved in this training, Fandakova warned.

The park and garden entry ban for all will remain in effect until we receive instructions from National Operations Headquarters based on an informed decrease in morbidity. We have spoken with Minister Ananiev and we are ready to coordinate our actions, says the mayor.

It also explains why young children enter parks first: Our reasons are that it is more difficult for them to comply with the recommendation to stay home and they cannot go out alone at other times. Walking on sidewalks with young children is not comfortable, nor is it in their best health. We need to provide access to children with disabilities and special needs, because prolonged closure of homes is extremely difficult for many of them.

The municipality of Sofia is preparing various options for walking in the parks, which will be presented to the national operational headquarters and the Minister of Health. All pretend to have a clear order so as not to disturb the distance and gather people. The necessary signs and brochures are also made.

Currently, there is an increase in the incidence rate in our country and all prohibitions, including those on parks, are in force, recalls Fandakova.
