Macedonia has reduced restrictions on the movement of citizens, while introducing the so-called “calling” model. Two-speed life. The population is divided into high-risk and low-risk individuals, with a dividing line of 67 years. The two groups are separated in the time zone they are allowed to leave.

The measure takes effect today. From 7pm to 5am no one has the right to move on the streets. For the rest of the time, people over 67 years old can go out from 5 to 12 hours, and for the youngest, the time zone is left from 13 to 19 hours. Prime Minister Oliver Spasowski personally reported the news on his Facebook profile yesterday.

The country’s curfew will begin at 7pm and continue until 5am, and on weekends from 3pm to 5am on Monday.

The working hours of the state institutions will begin between 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning and will end between 15:30 and 16:30 in the afternoon, with an 8-hour working day.

“These models, which we are using, suggest that measures for the protection of the high-risk group will be even more stringent at the moment,” said North Macedonian Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski. The purpose is to protect the high-risk group from possible contact with virus carriers.

As of today, the mandatory use of protective masks across the country is also in effect. Citizens must wear protective gear to cover their nose and mouth in all public venues, such as public transport, markets, banks, post offices, ambulances, hospitals, institutions, and in open spaces where distance cannot be kept. two meters between citizens such as markets, open shopping malls, narrow streets, bus stops and the like. Outdoor masks will not be worn if you are out on the patio, riding a bike, playing sports, or with your family in a car.

The idea of introducing “two speeds” to go out, establish time zones for risk groups and other citizens, is one of the epidemiological models proposed by the experts.

In Bulgaria, a similar rule is introduced for pensioners when they shop in the morning until 10 in the morning. There are no age restrictions for the rest of the time.

Green corridors have been provided this week to counsel women and children at outpatient clinics. Measures for walking in parks and mountains that distinguish risk groups – retirees and the chronically ill – are being considered. Until now, however, the situation of the pandemic has not allowed it, it was evident days ago from the National Operations Headquarters.

At the beginning of the month, the “Two-speed Bulgaria” strategy was launched to minimize the damage caused by the state of emergency in Bulgaria. The plan proposes to divide society into 2 groups: high risk (elderly and chronically ill) and low risk (active young people). The main task is to physically separate the two groups, in homes and outside of them. The two groups should be radically different measures, the plan suggests. For adults: maximum limitation of the activity and contacts of the protected group, to preserve their health and life. For young people, maintain the economic activity of the other group under very strict rules and measures to limit the spread of the virus in order to preserve the country’s economy.
