I don’t think we’ve gotten that far that the state can get the government plane and the yellow counties to drop any money. Therefore, Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov answered the question why there is no subsidy in Bulgaria for those affected by the coronavirus emergency.
In the Business.BG program, he explained that we also have grant schemes. He set the example by providing around 4.5 billion levs for liquidity. He also noted that measure 60/40 is a subsidy for 1.5 billion levs. Goranov said the goal is to keep employees in jobs so they can maintain their income in the crisis.
He also emphasized that it is difficult for a monetary board country to implement measures similar to those it has had in Germany and the United States.
Grants in the BGN 3,000 – 10,000 range will be allocated to micro and small businesses, revealed Vladislav Goranov.
“The role of the state is to preserve its essential functions,” he said.
“We must be cautious and careful with state money,” Goranov insisted.
The finance minister said a budget update was not planned. At this stage, there will also be no recourse to request assistance from the International Monetary Fund.
“In a crisis, changing taxes is not the right measure,” he said.
According to him, in times of crisis, when it is difficult to collect taxes, increasing them is not good.
Meanwhile, Vladislav Goranov also talks about joining ERM2.
“The euro area is a liability. It is a civilized choice. The euro area is not a bakery. We must not look at consumerism. We are part of a common value system,” he said.
