Milen Tsvetkov, arrested for the journalist’s death, appeared in court. The prosecution changed the charge against Christian Nikolov. He will already be responsible for the premeditated murder. A 22-year-old man was behind the wheel after using a cocktail of various heavy drugs. Both partners in Christian’s jeep were charged. One of them is the son of GERB MP Lachezar Ivanov. The court ruled: the defendant for the death of Milen Tsvetkov remains in custody. The hearing was conducted online, with only the court, the prosecutor and the defense present in the courtroom.
Christian himself listens to the motives of the parties on the Skype connection since the investigative arrest. In his reasoning for the decision, Judge Mina Mumdjieva noted that Christian Nikolov, 22, had completely missed the opportunity to cause a car accident by sitting behind the wheel. He had the full ability to slow down, but continued to drive at over 100 km / h, ignoring the red light.

Emergency team found Milen Tsvetkov in a coma
Christian has studied abroad, and due to the high public danger of his crime, he risks running away and committing another crime. His defense maintains that none of the witnesses questioned can say categorically that it was the 22-year-old man who was behind the wheel. Everyone saw him as a participant in a traffic accident, but not as a driver of a jeep that hit Milen Tsvetkov’s car.
Charge and guarantee of 100,000 BGN for the mother of the driver, beaten by Milen Tsvetkov
Lawyer Lyubomir Takov also claims that the journalist’s death may have been the result of inadequate first aid and not the impact. Therefore, he asked his client to stay free of charge or, if necessary, provide a cash guarantee. If the court decides to put him under house arrest, they would serve him at his mother’s house in the city center.
Through a Skype connection since the investigative arrest, Christian himself guarantees that he does not intend to flee the country because he studied abroad or committed a new crime. He only asked that he be given the opportunity to complete his education.
