Today the elections for the 45th National Assembly will be held. The race for deputies includes 6,895 candidates nominated by 30 parties and coalitions, and there are independent candidates. The number of voters is 6 million 732 thousand 316 people, reports BNR.
The sections in which we will vote are 11,983, and in 9,398 of them we will be able to vote by machine. The mobile sections for people with disabilities are 409. The COVID sections in hospitals throughout the country are 88. For those in quarantine or isolated by coronavirus, several hundred mobile sections have also been formed.
Election day begins at 07:00 and will last until 20:00. If there are voters waiting in front of the sections, it can be extended to 21 hours.
In the polling stations where the sectional electoral commissions are located, from 7:00 a.m. and no later than 9:00 p.m., all cameras will be turned off and their lenses will be closed. The decision depends on the CEC and aims to protect the secrecy of the vote.
There are 465 polling stations abroad for parliamentary elections, the majority in Germany, Turkey, the United States and the United Kingdom.
The bans on political unrest and the disclosure of sociological data on voter attitudes are valid until 8:00 p.m. on today’s election day, the Central Election Commission said.
The Interior Ministry recalled that people who do not have a valid identity document can receive a voting certificate. Passport offices throughout the country will be open today from 8.30 am to 7 pm.
The introduction of bans on the sale of alcohol is at the discretion of the mayors. In Sofia, the consumption of alcohol is prohibited in and around polling stations.
