About 30% was turnout at 3 p.m., according to exit poll data from the Gallup polling agency. This was announced by the sociologist Parvan Simeonov on the air of “NOVA Week”. According to official data from the CEC, participation in the country at 12 noon was 18.14%.
“Activity is moving to a lower level than in 2017, but not much. This means that it looks decent and with that the intrigue also goes up,” added Simeonov.
According to Trend political scientist Atanas Stefanov, the surprise after today’s election day is that pessimistic forecasts and expectations about ultra-low turnout will not come true.
“Rather, we will reach the levels we saw in the 2014 elections. However, below 50%, but nothing critically low, which would damage the legitimacy of the vote,” he added.
The lowest participation was recorded in Kardzhali: 12%. It is highest in Sliven: 25%.
At 10 am this morning, the CEC reported a country share of 7.58 percent. Turnout is almost 0.8 percent lower than that reported at the same time in the previous parliamentary vote in 2017.
The Electoral Commission announced in a briefing that all sections of the country are working. As for those found abroad, there is only one that has not been discovered due to the pandemic situation. Local authorities have not allowed this to happen.
“We have several complaints. It is possible that some of you have realized that there are problems with the lists in Dobrich. They are not as categorical as in Tarnovo. The displacements are peripheral. This only applies to automatic voting,” said the CCA.
According to the CCA, the highest participation was registered in Sliven, more than 24% and the lowest, in Silistra.
“There is a procedure that ensures that the votes cast by the machine will not be lost after the machine breaks down. Voting will simply continue through ballots. The votes cast will be counted,” the CEC announced.
