Diogo Jota became a hero for Liverpool, scoring two of the goals in the classic 3-0 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates in the derby on Matchday 30 of the Premier League.
The Portuguese gradually became the new star of the Merseysiders, opening his goal tally just three minutes after appearing in the match.
Jota made it 1-0 in the 64th minute, which ended with a perfect header from Trent Alexander-Arnold, who showed everyone, including Gareth Southgate, that he still has a place in the England team.
Four minutes later, Mohamed Salah rose to 2-0. Fabinho dropped a beautiful ball down the right, the Egyptian took it and entered the penalty area, then passed it between Bernt Leno’s legs.
The final 3-0 was formed by Jota with his second goal of the afternoon. Arsenal made a mistake taking the ball, Salah stole it and crossed into the penalty area, where Sadio Mane couldn’t stop him well, but Jota attacked him and shot Leno up close.
Thus, in less than half an hour, the Portuguese scored more goals for the Emirates than Alexandre Lacazette has at home since the beginning of 2021.
