In connection with the news related to an alleged threat to an unknown Bankya merchant that “if there is no GERB sign outside, it is” finished “, Mr. Rangel Markov, Mayor of Bankya, addressed an open letter to diplomat Chavdar Mladenov, who the information Markov described the news as false.

Here is the response of the mayor of Bankya, published without editorial intervention:

“Dear Mr. Mladenov, dear Chavdare, allow me to respond to you as mayor of Bankya and regional head of GERB in Bankya. First of all, I want to thank you for what you and your wife did for our city, that is, donating the piano of your family to our kindergarten. An extremely noble gesture that I appreciate. This is a European approach that is admirable (at least for me).

And in the context of all this, today’s post blew me away.

In all these 12 years since I was mayor, I have tried to help the business, within the law. What I read today, I consider an elemental provocation to Bankya. Our city is the birthplace of the prime minister and, of course, any attempt to make someone interesting would enter the political space (by the name Bankya, not by anything else).

I have never allowed myself to push (this is against my principles) and anyone who is interested knows it.

I wish everyone involved in the electoral process success, but let’s not forget that the name of our city comes first, and what lies ahead is extremely important.

Let us join forces for the benefit of our city and our country.

Sincerely yours,

Rangel Markov

Mayor of Bankya

Sofia, Bulgaria
