The Bulgarian youth team continues their excellent performance at the Antalya Cup 21 tournament in Turkey. After in their first match, Alexander Dimitrov’s boys turned Ukraine 2: 1, today the young “lions” achieved a clear victory with 3: 1 over their peers in Kazakhstan.
Our guys left no doubt that they are a better team and could achieve a much more expressive victory. Vladimir Nikolov and Dimitar Tonev twice were points for our team, as all three goals fell at the start of the second half in just nine minutes, and the Kazakhs reduced a controversial penalty late in the match. In the last minute of the game Denislav Angelov left our team with ten people for an exaggerated second yellow card, but this did not overshadow the good impressions of our game, especially in the second half.
No goals were scored in the first half, although our boys were the most active team for most of the half.
The result was opened by Bulgaria in the 51st minute. Vladimir Nikolov then stole the ball from the Kazakh goalkeeper and sent it into the empty net for 1: 0 without any problems.
Seven minutes later we were already 2 to 0. Dimitar Tonev received the ball from the left and after adjusting the shot he sent the ball precisely to the ground in the rival goal.
Two minutes later, Tonev scored again – 3: 0. The Botev midfielder received a pass from Dominik Yankov and after the goalkeeper unexpectedly came out he sent the ball into the empty net from a distance.
In the following minutes our team continued to be a better team on the field and was able to score more goals. Kolyo Stanev and Denislav Angelov had good positions, but failed. Iliya Gruev was also able to score from a small angle, but decided to pass.
In the 81st minute, the Turkish referee awarded an excessive penalty to the Kazakhs, after Gruev lightly touched an opponent and the referee signaled the white spot. From the performance our opponent realizes his honorable goal. In the last minute of regulation time, Angelov was sent off because he received a second yellow card because he got too close to the ball when he fouled Kazakhstan. In the last moments of the game the rival tried to reach the second goal, but ours defended calmly and in an organized way.
