Football in Europe can undergo a big change in terms of transfers, of which the Bulgarian champion and our other leading clubs can be profitable. A drastic option is being discussed in which clubs participating in the same international tournament cannot buy players from each other. This means that, for example, two teams in the Champions League will not have the right to exchange players. The same will apply to those in the Europa League, where it is possible that two Bulgarian teams will participate. Then transfers between them will be prohibited.
The main objectives of this are twofold: on the one hand, the clubs themselves in a career do not weaken each other, and on the other hand, stimulate interest in attracting weaker championship club players.
This proposal is currently being discussed by representatives of the European Club Association (ESA), chaired by the president of Juventus, Andrea Agnelli. “This way we will no longer witness multi-million dollar deals between Champions League teams. This, in turn, will likely increase interest in players from weaker championship champions. These are some of the things we are currently discussing.” Anieli told the Telegraph.
