497 new people infected with COVID-19 in Bulgaria, 16.7% of those examined – Diseases

Four hundred and ninety-seven new coronavirus infections were recorded in the last 24 hours in Bulgaria with 2,971 tests performed (almost 17 percent positive). 21 people have died, according to the Unified Information Portal.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Bulgaria reached 260,308, identified through 1,744,583 tests. A total of 10,614 people have died in Bulgaria since the start of the pandemic. Active cases are 36,807, of which 5,776 people were hospitalized, including 456 in the intensive care unit.

Another 21,060 doses of the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine arrive

385 people with a positive coronavirus test have recovered in the past 24 hours. The total number of people cured in Bulgaria is 212 887. Since the beginning of the campaign, the total number of vaccines administered in Bulgaria has been 288 631, including 1513 during the last 24 hours.

A total of 10,455 coronavirus cases were confirmed among medical staff, including 3,282 doctors and 3,461 nurses. By districts, the majority of new cases of coronavirus during the last 24 hours were registered in Sofia (160), followed by Plovdiv (30), Pleven (29), Vratsa (26) and Varna (23). Regarding the total number of infected, the capital is again the first (69,297), ahead of Plovdiv (23,470), Varna (18,395), Burgas (16,256) and Blagoevgrad (12,694).
