The EU sees Russia as distant and unknown. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, TASS reported.

Lavrov also explained his latest comments on the matter. He said the country is willing to end relations with the EU because it no longer exists.

The diplomat also recalled old statements by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Joseph Borrell, in which he identified Russia as an old enemy. Lavrov said good practices, such as joint meetings with the EU and the European Council, are no longer taking place.

The commercial turnover with the EU is said to have decreased. This is due to the restrictions imposed.

This often happens without providing facts or evidence of allegations. At the moment, it is difficult to have expectations of diplomatic dialogue.

According to him, there is currently no bilateral dialogue, not even on major international issues.
