The director of the “Metropolitano” Stoyan Bratoev was injured in an accident that occurred on the damaged section of the third line of the metro, according to Dir.bg from his sources.
The 67-year-old subway chief fell after feeling ill while patrolling the problem area. He hit his head. The movement of the trains had to be stopped in the third beam so that Bratoev was taken out of the tunnel with a tram by the Teatralna metro station.
The ambulance announced that they had received a signal for an injured person at 4.15pm. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene.
“The team transported the patient to Queen Joanna Hospital on suspicion of concussion,” explained Katya Sungarska, spokeswoman for the Emergency Medical Center.
The Municipality of Sofia clarified that after the necessary medical examinations, the director of “Metropolitan” was discharged from the medical institution and is now at home.
At the end of January, traffic between the Teatralna and Hadji Dimitar metro stations stopped due to the deformation of part of the track. Since then, the section has undergone repairs.
