Yosif Yosifov’s son, Yosko Kostinbrodsky, Ivan, failed with the murders of magistrates and policemen, who prevented him from distributing drugs in Sofia because he was arrested.

Yesterday he received 8 years in prison by the Specialized Criminal Court, and his right hand Petko Stoyanov – Pendaka – 4 years in prison for leading a criminal group organized for the production, possession and distribution of drugs in Sofia, called “The Company”, and prepare for the murder of two prosecutors and two investigators.

The court sentenced the defendant in the same case, Stefan Gevgeliiski, to five years in prison for inciting the group’s leaders, Ivan Yosifov and Petko Stoyanov-Pandaka, to organize the killings. Stefan Gevgelija made the order from jail, where he was serving a sentence for another crime.

Two of the defendants in the case were sentenced by the court to effective sentences of five years in prison each, and the other two to four years in prison.

Ten of the accused in the criminal association pleaded guilty before the end of the trial, reached agreements with the prosecution and are already serving effective sentences of 2 to 4 years in “prison”.

Evidence gathered by the prosecution in the case shows that Ivan and Pendaka organized the criminal group in early 2018.

The objective was not only the production, possession and distribution of drugs in the territory of Sofia, but also the establishment of a monopoly of drug distribution in the city. To do this, methods of force were imposed on competitors, merchants and debtors. The leaders determined who to punish or coerce.

The group distributed the full range of drugs, most often acquiring products from illegal traders in Turkey and Macedonia. In addition, he produced amphetamines and marijuana in Kostinbrod with the personal participation of manager Ivan, and he had his own warehouse in a village near the city.

In a short time, the participants built a network of their distributors in different districts of the capital.

With threats and beatings, local merchants, including 13-14 year old students, were forced to work for them.

The group had a common car fleet and observed strict secrecy in the contacts between the participants.

Each drug had a code name: cocaine was called “lions”, heroin was called “coffee”, ecstasy was called “buttons” or “candy”, marijuana was called “nettle” or “dollars”, amphetamine it was called “alfa romeo”, “stone” “or” cheese “, and so on.

Already in mid-2018, the criminal association set a record of distribution per day: one kilogram of marijuana, 10,000 tablets of ecstasy, almost one kilogram of amphetamines.

The group also organized a confrontation with the people who hindered the rapid growth of its illegal activities: prosecutors and employees of the Interior Ministry, who conducted investigations and participated in court hearings against members of the criminal association and their families.

In May 2018, on behalf of Stefan Gevgelija, the group’s leaders planned the murder of two magistrates and two policemen. This included the supply of weapons and direct perpetrators, the establishment of addresses and vehicles, their usual routes and habits.

Ivan and Pendaka began the preparation. The planned killings did not take place due to the discovery and arrest of the participants on June 27, 2018.

We remind you that again by order of Stefan Gevgelijski in 2016 a warden of the Sofia Prison was assassinated, a drug trafficker was seriously injured with a machete, and masked men beat the head of the Orthopedic Clinic of the hospital “St. Anna” Prof. Stefan Stanchev.

As a result of the beating, the doctor lost an eye. For these facts, Gevgelija is accused in another case of the Specialized Criminal Court.

The verdicts of the Specialized Criminal Court of the seven gang members are not final and can be appealed and claimed before the Specialized Criminal Court of Appeals.
