French film legend advises Italians on three caged animals
French film legend Brigitte Bardot has asked the Italian province of Trento to send three bears to a Bulgarian nature park, locked in cages as “troublesome.”
The famous animal star wrote two letters to the head of the northern autonomous province, Maurizio Fugati, demanding the release of the three bears DJ3, M57 and M49, locked up in the center of Casteller, near Trento, protesting the fate of the four-legged. animals.
This happened after Italian activists spread a video with bears in cages on social media. As president of an animal protection association, Bardot complained about how the Italian province treats bears.
Fugati sent a reassuring reply to the actress. Brigitte Bardot sent a second letter to the province of Trento, in which she made a specific proposal: the three troublesome bears moved to a Bulgarian nature park, which is cared for by her foundation in cooperation with the Austrian association Vier Pfoten.
“It is unnecessary to continue exchanging messages through the media. My suggestion will allow you to get rid of the bears that you consider dangerous. It is time to act in the common interest, starting with that of animals that are unjustly locked in cages,” wrote the sex symbol.
Brigitte Bardot suggests that the four-legged animals be sent to a natural park in Belitsa, where many bears that have danced in circuses are already sheltered. The star explained to the Italian province that in Bulgaria the bears will be in a safe place, since the park for them in Belitsa is vast, located in a natural environment – in the forest and on a hill, with everything necessary as places. to live and swim.
According to the star, in this way the Italian bears will get better living conditions and get rid of their prison numbers, which are now their names. “I trust you, they trust us … to act!”, Bardo wrote to Fugati.
The Dancing Bear Park “Four Paws” is located in the Rila Mountains, about 180 km from Sofia, 12 km from Belitsa and 35 km from Bansko. It is maintained in collaboration with the French Brigitte Bardot Foundation and is funded by both foundations. In 2000, 31 dancing bears from Bulgaria, Serbia and Albania were rescued and brought to the park.
Maurizio Fugati responded to the movie star that he was in favor of the proposal and that he would consider it with the help of experts in the field.
