This was stated in an interview with BNR by Professor Nikolay Vitanov, a mathematician from the National Operational Headquarters, on the occasion of the idea of ​​evaluating students with rapid antigen tests to preserve the educational system and allow a longer form of face-to-face training.

He explained that younger children are seriously ill and have difficulty transmitting the disease to adults. “The old high school students – 5th, 6th, 7th grade, their morbidity is normal. The problem is the big students: eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh grade, their body is like that of adults, but they do not follow the measurements. Its incidence is 60% higher than in adults over 60 years of age. That’s the problem. If you release all students, after two to three weeks, the incidence will increase by a double digit percentage: 10-15%. That is why the ministry proposes the rotation scheme to suppress the development of the infection, but also to provide some type of face-to-face training ”, revealed Prof. Vitanov.
