The Prosecutor’s Office has not verified whether the male voice of which expired in June last year. The scandalous recording belongs to Boyko Borisov. This was announced by the co-president of “Democratic Bulgaria”, Hristo Ivanov, who referred the case to the Bulgarian prosecution.
“With some difficulties” Ivanov managed to obtain the decree by refusing to initiate criminal proceedings. It is due to every citizen who reports a crime. Ivanov said the refusal to open an investigation will be appealed.
“We have again sweeping rugs”Ivanov commented on the way the prosecution carried out the investigation. He explained that lead prosecutor Nikolova questioned only people who could be the subject of the investigation and no incidental data was collected.
Last year, two independent reviews of the recording were conducted with Borissov’s vote, which expired on June 12. One was paid for by the research website Bivol, and the other by MEP Elena Yoncheva (BSP), who was also commented on by the man, whose voice and manner of speaking are strikingly similar to that of the prime minister. Both tests showed that it was probably Boyko Borissov’s voice and the content of the recording was not tampered with.
In the 7-minute recording, vulgar qualifications are heard directed at the parliamentary speaker Tsveta Karayancheva (EMBLEM), he also brags about how he can beat his peers in the EU by admitting that it’s simple. The other boast is: “Otherwise, inflate the fact that I put the FSC in” Eurohold “to blur his face, which does not meet me.” This was logically interpreted as an open recognition of how the so-called independent regulators are used to pressure companies.
Meanwhile, Eurohold, which wanted to buy CEZ’s assets in Bulgaria, ran into the Commission for the Protection of Competition and was separately reviewed by the Financial Supervision Commission, according to the voice on the recording. A few months after the scandal broke, the CCP took a 180-degree turn and allowed Eurohold to acquire CEZ.
Hristo Ivanov asked the supervising prosecutor to apply the so-called Geshev standard for the inspection of the expired registration and to publish all the materials on the case. The idea is to see exactly what the prime minister was asked and find out if it is a simulation of an investigation. However, supervisory prosecutor Nikolova refused.
“The Geshev standard applies only to opposition figures, not just those in power.”Ivanov commented.
The Geshev standard in question refers to the practice imposed in the last year by the Prosecutor’s Office of publishing all kinds of recordings of telephone conversations, chats, photos and other evidence against people who have not yet been prosecuted. In the general case, we are talking about people who are uncomfortable with Borisov and Geshev.
In the midst of civil protests against the government and the attorney general, a conversation was published between a journalist and a deputy, who had to suggest that the protests had been paid for by Vasil Bozhkov. Previously, the transcripts of the recordings of President Rumen Radev were published illegally, although he is immune.
“Prosecutor Nikolova refuses to publish all the materials on this inspection. We wanted to see what Borisov asked, what she did not ask him.”Ivanov commented.
The refusal of the prosecutor Nikolova is motivated by the fact that the prosecution is obliged to keep the personal data of citizens, and for the disclosure of data collected during a preliminary inspection, criminal responsibility lies with art. 360 of the Penal Code (CC).
“We are going to refer to Ms. Nikolova, after she found article 360 of the Penal Code, to refer also to Ivan Geshev.”Hristo Ivanov said. He added that the Bulgarian prosecutor’s office is “Very skewed and bent on all fours those in power: Peevski, Borisov and Dogan”
The recording, which the DB co-chair spoke of, is just one of several with the prime minister’s vote expiring last year.
