A 58-year-old woman died in a car accident in Kardzhali.
The incident occurred around 6.30pm Sunday on Republikanska Street. An Alfa Romeo car with a 49-year-old driver and a Ford minibus driven by a 23-year-old boy collided head-on.
A 58-year-old passenger in the minibus died as a result of the collision. The drivers were tested for alcohol, writes 24rodopi.com, referring to the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry.
The truck driver’s test came back negative and the technical device reported 1.73 per thousand to the driver of the car.
An RU-Kardzhali guard task force inspected the crash site. Pre-trial proceedings have started.
The driver of the car was detained for up to 24 hours at the police station. A team from the Kardzhali fire service cleared the road in the area of the accident.
Relatives of the woman who died last night in the Kardzhali accident demanded that the guilty driver be lynched. Gendarmerie and police guarded the entrances to the MHAT Emergency Medical Care Center “Dr. Atanas Dafovski”.
“The driver who caused the accident was drunk,” said a relative of the dead woman.
