1500 cases a day is the signal lamp, in 2000 we entered the developed turbulence, warned

“We are not getting close to herd immunity and it will be difficult to achieve naturally.” This was said in the program “The day begins with Georgi Lyubenov” by Prof. Nikolay Vitanov of BAS, a mathematician at the National Operational Headquarters.

He added that about 20% of Bulgarians have found the virus.

“And this is quite far from 70%. When the number of cases becomes 800-900 000 thousand, then we can already say that we are approaching herd or group immunity,” explained the mathematician.

Professor Vitanov also said that at the moment there is a gradual increase in cases.

“There is a critical number of new cases per day registered, which should not be transferred, currently there are 1,500 per day,” he added.

“We are currently at around 500-600 cases. The next scenario that could be realized is to become around 1000 cases per day. At the end of the month, the approximate number we should look at is 250,000 registered cases. If we are below or around that number, so we did very well, ”said the mathematician.

According to him, 8th to 12th grade students are problematic.

“They don’t follow the measures and the morbidity is 60%, they don’t listen to what they are told. You have to send them to school very carefully.” he warned.
