The BGN 50 support, which the state gives to the pension, can continue in April.
“The announcement of the extension of the allocation was made by the Prime Minister in relation to the fact that he will give as long as he needs it, or while there is an epidemiological situation. We are considering continuing it in April,” he added. explained the Minister of Social Affairs, Denitsa Sacheva, in the corresponding parliamentary commission.
In April, the state will allocate BGN 120 for food to 392,000 pensioners. The condition is that their pensions are between BGN 300.01 and BGN 369. It will be discussed whether this circle of people will receive the bonus of BGN 50.
By January 31, all amounts owed for November and December will be paid under the “Keep me” measure, Denitsa Sacheva added. BGN 10 million have already been paid to 39,000 employees. Most are restaurateurs and drinkers. In total, more than 42,000 have applied and some 3,000 have been denied this compensation for various reasons, Sacheva said.
Acceptance of documents for January begins on February 1, when the compensation will no longer be BGN 24, but will be 75 percent of the employees’ insurance income.
About 35,000 have been registered as unemployed in the hotel and restaurant industry since the beginning of the state of emergency, said Minister Sacheva. According to her, the protest is understandable because people expect to start working immediately. According to her, the reason for the great pressure from restaurateurs is that there are many people in the gray sector. Support has cleared 1/3 of the work, but was unable to fully resolve this issue, he added.
