A noisy nurses party at Zagreb’s largest COVID hospital, Dubrava, RTL TV reported yesterday, was condemned today by Health Minister Willy Beros and the Croatian Chamber of Nurses, the Hina news agency reported.

Videos of the celebration show various nurses and support staff singing and dancing with an accordionist, without masks and without distance.

“Such behavior during the epidemic and the efforts made by Dubrava Hospital to treat coronavirus patients is inappropriate. The hospital is not a place for such things. Healthcare workers are supposed to be a role model of behavior and observance of the anti-epidemic norms ”, said the Minister of Health, expressing the expectation of the hospital management to verify the circumstances and facts and take the appropriate disciplinary measures.

They broke an illegal party with 200 people in London

The hospital director, Ivica Luksic, told HTV national television today that he had called a meeting on Monday regarding the case. He explained that according to unofficial information, the nurses organized a party to send his colleague, who was going to work in Germany. Luksic said the celebration took place in a staff bathroom outside the covid room and the patients were not at risk.

The Nurses’ Room condemned the celebration in the hospital building, noting that such behavior was completely “inappropriate, unacceptable and regrettable.”

“This is an unacceptable act of endangering the health of the participants in the celebration and the people around them. It also casts a shadow over the thousands of nurses who do their jobs in a professional and responsible manner, “said today the president of the Chamber, Mario Gazic.
