Athletic Bilbao won the Spanish Super Cup by beating Barcelona 3-2 in extra time.
The clash turned into a true thriller, after the “Basque lions” tied the result twice. In the first case, it happened immediately after Antoine Griezmann’s first goal, and the second half was in the last minute of regulation time, when the Catalans were already seen as winners. In the first sequel, a magnetic blow from Inyaki Williams paralyzed Mark-Andre ter Stegen, who was rendered completely defenseless.
Thus, Marcelinho graduates won the third trophy of the competition in the club’s history. The last one dates back to 2015, when the rival was Barcelona.

Messi tried to cross with a direct free kick at the beginning of the second half, but it did not pose a danger to the defensive axis of the “Basque Lions”.

In the 90th minute Vialibre intercepted with his left foot after a cross from a Muniain free kick and drew 2: 2 from close range in the penalty area, getting ahead of the defense.
In the fourth minute of the first overtime, a virtuous performance by Inyaki Williams caught Mark-Adre Ter Stegen, who was exposed on the edge of the penalty area and turned the ball in the upper left corner inescapable after the assistance of Muniain.
