Geshev: We are investigating in detail the case of the murdered child in Mezdra

In a briefing, the Vratsa prosecution announced that pre-trial proceedings had been initiated for vandalism and damage to the property of others. Instruction policemen were sent to the scene to search for the participants in the actions. They will be stopped. An inspection will be conducted and all witnesses will be questioned. It will be decided against whom the detention measures will be taken.

There is no conclusive evidence that the pogrom was planned in advance. It remains to be seen whether the attackers arrived prepared with stones, the Interior Ministry said. During their on-site visit, Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev and Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Ivaylo Ivanov insisted that they would insist on a speedy and effective investigation.

The 8-year-old boy was found dead in front of the house on Friday. Law enforcement agencies are working on two versions. The first is that the boy died after being shot by an improperly stored firearm. According to the second version, the boy was killed by a pirate. A 38-year-old man, owner of the hunting rifle, believed to have been shot in the fatal night, was arrested in the case. The detainee is the father of a child with whom the victim played earlier in the day.
