I would not define one statesman as an “administrator” of another.

This was declared by Vice President Iliana Yotova as “offensive” in NOVA News on the occasion of President Radev’s words that “Borissov is a person of confidence of President Erdogan.” He even emphasized that it was “self-critical”, since he spoke as part of a presidential institution.

Yotova said it would be an honor for her, along with Radev, to once again be a pair of presidential candidates, nominated by the BSP.

I’d rather have the BSP fight outside than inside the party, he commented on the recent events surrounding the expulsion of Georgi Gergov at the suggestion of the BSP National Assembly. Yotova said too much attention is being paid to the case as he is not the only one in the party.

According to her, the most important thing is that for the first time the BSP has directly elected a leader and a new Executive Council, who she hopes will have their heads on their shoulders and know what they are doing.

I believe that the BSP may win the next parliamentary elections, but it is important what policies will be followed, said the vice president.

Yotova said it was too early to predict what the next parliament would look like and what the best configurations would be for a government to be elected, because everyone would be surprised by the results of the next elections.

The vice president explained that she said it was better for the new parliament to be functioning and forming a stable government, rather than reaching a provisional cabinet.

“The consultations were not about the date of the elections, but about the holding of free elections. This means that the people can vote calmly, with the utmost confidence in the people,” revealed Vice President Iliana Yotova.

“The president did not rush with the date, because almost all the participants in the consultations say that this is how the preparations turned out. There will be no electronic voting in this parliamentary election, but there should be a pilot project of vote by mail, let’s try it. Many Bulgarians abroad will find it difficult to do so during a pandemic, “he said.

According to her, Rumen Radev knows how to take responsibility and the threatening tone of the ruling parties is ridiculous and inappropriate. According to her, there will be a maximum representation of Bulgarian citizens in the new parliament.

This time the protests were a spontaneous gathering of people, not led by political formations. Leadership is not constantly seeking a balance between supply and demand, but also making unpopular decisions.

For Yotova, 2021 is not only an election year, but also a year of recovery, and the next prime minister must symbolically wear the white apron. On the situation in the BSP, the vice president said that he did not intend to run for party leader, but believed that the battles should be fought outside of it, not within.
