IN Georgia decides the fate of America. In the by-elections, Republican and Democratic candidates compete for two senatorial seats. The outcome of the election will determine who will control the upper house of the United States Congress.

Exitpol shows that Democrat Rafael Warnock won the second round in Georgia’s Senate elections against incumbent senator, Republican Kelly Lofler, Reuters reported, cited by BTA.

The preliminary results of the by-elections for the Senate in the US state of Georgia bear witness to a disputed race, the DPA reported.

Republicans currently control the Senate. Democrats will have to win both seats to get a majority. The election is held again because neither candidate reached 50% in November.

Former Republican Senator David Purdue and Democratic candidate John Osoff face each other.

With about 86 percent of the votes counted, Purdue leads Ossof with 51.3 percent to 48.7 percent of the votes.

In the other election, Republican Senator Kelly Lofler faces Democrat Rafael Warnock.
