The BSP Executive Bureau will propose to the BSP National Assembly that Georgi Gergov be expelled from the party, announced the centenary press office. This happened after the adoption of the report of the working group headed by Christian Vigenin, established on the occasion of the unconstitutional convening of a meeting of the Regional Council in Plovdiv, chaired by Gergov.
Among the reasons are a serious violation of the constitutional norms regarding the obligations of party members.
With his behavior, Gergov undermines the prestige of the party, does not work to provide public support for his policy and establish his good name.
The established working group held meetings with the Tables of the municipal and regional party organizations in Plovdiv and the district, where the status of the organizations, the trends in their composition, the results of the elections held in recent years were discussed. The interaction of the Regional Council with the party organizations was also discussed, as well as the attitude towards the irregular meeting of the Regional Council.
The working group met with presidents of party organizations and ordinary socialists, who presented their views on the activities of the party leadership there and the role and authority of the BSP in the respective municipalities. Meetings were also held with representatives of the Plovdiv registered debate clubs “Georgi Kirkov” and “Left Authenticity”.
The working group also learned about the signals and letters received by the National Council and the OPCC in recent years.
The BSP National Assembly will rule on the proposal of the party’s Executive Bureau, adopted on January 5, 2021.
