Croatian LNG terminal is operational on Kirk Island: America’s first gas supply has arrived, Reuters reported.
“The tanker Tristar Ruby arrived with 143,000 cubic meters of gas, which marked the beginning of the terminal’s operation for commercial purposes ”, announced the company LNG Hrvatska.
The tanker’s unloading is expected to continue through January 3.
The floating terminal on Kirk Island can accommodate 2.6 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Your volumes for the next 3 years they already are completely exhausted.
Construction of the terminal has been in discussion for over 20 years. It was originally planned to be located on land, but due to protests from locals and environmental activists, the decision for a floating terminal prevailed.
