Higher pensions and wages await us in 2021
To date, the new higher water prices are in effect in seven districts of the country. The most significant is the increase in Sofia and Razgrad, by about 6%. At the same time, for 16 water supply and sewerage companies, the price drops. The biggest reductions are found in Sliven, Yambol, Dobrich, Burgas and Vidin.
From the first day of the year, the new amount of the minimum wage comes into effect. It is now 650 leva, instead of the current 610.
The minimum pension is also changing. According to the estimates of the Budget 2021, the elderly will now be able to receive at least 300 BGN per month. The additional 50 BGN per month, which are paid to pensions as a measure against the crisis due to the pandemic, will remain in force until the end of March.
What changes will go into effect on January 1
The maximum pension is also changing, as the maximum limit of money for adults will be 1,440 BGN. An important clarification is that this occurs without changing the insurance that workers pay.
Families with incomes of up to BGN 410 per person will receive a monthly allowance of BGN 40 for raising one child and BGN 90 for two.
The one-time aid for students enrolled in first and eighth grade is also three hundred leva.
Starting today, taxis will be more expensive. A change in the ordinance on the initial rate allowed it to be between two and three times higher than the minimum price per kilometer.
Important news for drivers: today almost 10,000 electronic vignettes expire, according to the official report of the toll system. They are car stickers. And at the end of January and in February the vignettes that expire are more than 800 thousand.
