The minimum wage today is BGN 650, 40 more than in 2020. Budgeted wages increase by 10 percent. For the whole of 2021, funds are foreseen to ensure a 30% increase as of August 1, 2020 in the salaries of the administrations, which are in charge of activities to control the pandemic and the consequences of Covid-19. There are also changes to the monthly child allowances. Families with incomes of up to BGN 410 per person will receive a monthly allowance of BGN 40 for raising one child and BGN 90 for two.
The monthly allowance for lower-income families with three children amounts to BGN 135, for four children BGN 145 and for each subsequent child, the family allowance increases by BGN 20. If the income of a family member is between 410 and 510 BGN, then the aid is equal to 80 per cent of the amount of the monthly allowances for the children of the lowest-income families. The monthly allowance for raising twins is 75 leva.
The monthly allowance for raising a child with a permanent disability, depending on the type and degree of disability, or the degree of permanently reduced working capacity, ranges from BGN 930 to 350. The one-time aid for students enrolled in the first and eighth grades is three hundred leva. A 17 percent increase in teachers’ salaries and a 15 percent increase in salaries are expected in the Interior Ministry.
Pensioners with a pension of 300 lev and one cent up to and including 369 lev will receive a one-time annual financial support for food in the amount of 120 lev.
As of today, the minimum pension is BGN 300 instead of the current BGN 250.. The maximum amount is 1,440 instead of the current 1,200 cams. In the new year, the gradual increase in the age and length of service for retirement continues.
Women will retire at the age of 61 years and 8 months with 36 years of experience, and men, at the age of 64 years and 4 months and 39 years of experience. All occupational pensions granted until December 31, 2020 will be updated with an estimated rate of 5% as of July 1, 2021. For January, February and March it is planned to continue with the payment of a supplement of BGN 50 to the pensions of all pensioners.
The monthly minimum amount of insurance income for the self-insured becomes BGN 650, which is the minimum wage, and that for registered tobacco growers and farmers remains BGN 420.
The maximum insurance income of BGN 3,000 is also preserved. The minimum daily unemployment benefit will be BGN 12 and the maximum BGN 74.29.
Compensation for raising a child up to the age of two is still BGN 380.
A maximum amount of BGN 1,625 of guaranteed accounts receivable in the event of employer insolvency has been set for the employees’ “Guaranteed accounts receivable” fund.
