Tourists lost in Rila – very scared and frozen

The two Bulgarians who got lost in Rila tonight and raised the equipment to PSS – Dupnitsa arrived at the “Ivan Vazov” hut, but were terribly frightened and frozen. They started from Rila Lakes to the cabin but got lost in the Razdala area. From there they managed to write a text message to their relative telling him that they were in danger. He called 112.

Meanwhile, they also managed to call the emergency number. The detachment quickly organized an operation in Dupnitsa, but in the meantime it became clear that the two young men had reached Ivan Vazov’s hut.

“They shouldn’t have left at all, because the forecast was for very bad weather. However, since they did not comply with this, they had to leave much earlier. There is a strong hurricane wind in Rila, very dense fog and no visibility. A miracle. it is that they managed to reach the cabin ”, commented the mountain rescuers of Dupnitsa.
