Another 20,000 Pfizer / BioNTech vaccines will arrive on January 4. They will be delivered by plane to Sofia Airport and from there they will begin their distribution in different areas. This was said on the air of “Nova TV” by the Head of Health Inspection of the Associate State Prof. Angel Kunchev. He added that in the coming months of this drug Bulgaria will receive between 150,000 and 200,000 units per month.

“Moderna’s vaccine is following in Pfizer’s footsteps. The exact amounts will be clear when it is approved for use in the European Union. After that, several more vaccines will probably be approved,” Kunchev said. According to him, it will not be easy to manage the process of delivering so many vaccines, but this will allow people to choose which vaccine to receive.

He stressed that a massive information campaign on immunization has not yet started, as there are still not enough vaccines available for mass use.

According to experts, the beginning of the end of the pandemic will occur when the number of vaccinated in our country reaches 2 million. According to Kunchev, this will happen in the summer of 2021.
