Belgium introduces 7-day PCR and quarantine test for arriving Bulgarians

Starting tomorrow, Belgium will introduce a mandatory 7-day PCR and quarantine test for all citizens arriving in the country from the so-called red zone, which includes Bulgaria. This was announced by the press center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Passengers who enter the country from territories declared a red zone and have stayed in them for more than 48 hours must be examined on the first day of entry into the country, as well as on the seventh day.

In the event of a negative PCR test performed on the seventh day of the quarantine, it is terminated, and if the result is positive, citizens must isolate themselves for at least another 7 days.

According to our embassy in Brussels, an exception to the mandatory quarantine will be made for citizens staying in Belgium for less than 48 hours. In addition, if the stay of a passenger subject to quarantine lasts less than the 7-day quarantine period, they will be able to leave the country before the quarantine expires.

Exceptions also include nationals who perform critical functions in key sectors, students who may exceptionally break their quarantine to take an exam, nationals domiciled in Belgium who have resided abroad for professional reasons which may be Refuse mandatory quarantine before January 4, provided that you have a certificate from the employer for the professional reason for the trip.
