The Medical Commission of the Italian Football Federation is considering the possibility of vaccinating all professional players in the country against the coronavirus.
The opinion of several specialists and doctors is that footballers should be vaccinated against COVID-19, and was supported by the Players Association.
“The vaccination of all professional players in Italy is an option that must be discussed. Since this is a matter of public importance, it would not make sense to vaccinate some and not others. I agree with the president of the League, Francesco Girelli, who believes that all footballers should be vaccinated.
Given what we’ve been through the last 10 months, there is simply no alternative. We have not discussed this issue with the medical commission yet, but I think it is a good idea to vaccinate the players, ”said Francesco Braconaro, who is part of the board of the Italian federation.
