A Plovdiv resident was arrested and heavily fined after a shooting in Karshiyaka. The man emptied a full cartridge into the air in front of a restaurant.
The western-style movie took place in July. A Plovdiv resident had a legal gas pistol. He was at La Dolce Vita restaurant on Kolyu Ficheto street in the North district. Minutes after 8:30 pm, at the height of the party, the man left the restaurant and began shooting. He emptied the entire cartridge in the pistol, reported trafficnews.bg.
Meanwhile, eyewitnesses called the police. The uniformed officers arrested the shooter on the spot. The gun was legal, but for its illegal use in a public place, its owner was fined. The Plovdiv resident was fined 2,500 BGN under the Arms, Ammunition, Explosives and Pyrotechnic Articles Law.
The sentence was immediately referred to the jurisdiction of the District Court. The shooter fully admitted his guilt, but wrote in his complaint that the amount of the fine was excessive.
In fact, the magistrates accepted the arguments of the Plovdiv resident. As this was the first offense for the man, who has a clean criminal record and no criminal record, the District Court took pity on him and reduced his sentence. Therefore, out of 2,500 BGN, you only received a fine of 500 BGN.
