A 20-year-old student needs a life-saving emergency transplant. The young man has leukemia and a Turkish clinic gives him a chance. However, the family does not have the means to pay for the expensive treatment.
Cancer is the enemy Georgi has been fighting for 16 years. He first faced the disease when he was only four years old.
“All my struggle for the last 15 years has been a struggle for life and not letting my son stop wanting to live. During these years, after all these chemotherapy treatments, he did not stop living. No matter how many times you ask him. , Georgi is fine ”, says the mother.
Georgi has beaten cancer more than once. In August, he heard the severe diagnosis for the fourth time and it turned out to be the most acute form of leukemia. Thus begins his fight for life again.
“I couldn’t believe it when the doctor told me. Half of my childhood was like this: whether for better or for worse, it hardens you. I hope it’s the last time,” says Georgi.
In an attempt to save him, his family travels to Istanbul, where he has been receiving treatment for two months.
“Georgi underwent chemotherapy, he is doing very well after chemotherapy. The next step is the stem cell transplant. The chances of success are very high. The success rate is very high,” says Georgi’s mother.
The treatment costs 150 thousand euros and with the help of donors a large part of the amount is raised. However, for the transplant to take place, funds must be raised an hour in advance.
We need 32 thousand euros to reach zero with the hospital and later we will need another 10 thousand euros for the recovery after the transplant. “God bless every hand and coin that came to save my son,” says Christina.
A donor for Georgi has already been found and the team at the Turkish clinic is ready to transplant him next week.
