3.5 million Bulgarians will be vaccinated by the end of 2021, if 10,000 vaccines are administered every day. This was stated to bTV by the mathematician of the National Operational Headquarters Prof. Nikolay Vitanov. He realized that the danger had not passed.

The good news after a month of partial closure is that there is a 15 times lower incidence and a visible drop in mortality.

The mathematician also calculated that for a newly infected, three are out of the statistics. This means that in about 80,000 active cases, 320,000 are carriers of the virus.

About 800,000 Bulgarians have encountered the coronavirus, which is 12%. The expectation of staff that the percentage of positive antigen tests will be lower than that of PCR tests is justified.

“In general terms, out of every 20 people who walk on the street, one is a carrier of the virus and most do not know it. You have to put on the mask and not relax despite the good results that the measures give,” advises Prof Vitanov.

“On holidays, it is good for people to eat, drink and protect themselves. We will have a peaceful New Year’s break and this work will continue until January 7 and 8, after which the common flu will present itself,” he added.
