A 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Croatia, according to the European Seismological Center. One child died, BTA reported.
The epicenter was 46 km southeast of Zagreb, in the Petrine area, with a depth of 10 km. It is also strongly felt in Slovenia.

BREAKING | A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck Croatia, just dozens of kilometers south of Zagreb.
It is the largest earthquake to hit the country so far this year, and local media reported significant damage near the epicenter.

The earthquake lasted about half a minute and was felt in Rijeka, Vukovar, Split, Zagreb.
Police urged citizens to get out if they can and stay away from buildings that are in danger of collapsing.
According to Croatian state television, the earthquake knocked down the roof of a Sisak hospital over the internal medicine ward. The television crew barely managed to escape at the entrance to the City Hall, which also collapsed.
The capital, Zagreb, has also been affected: electricity has been cut for some time, trams have frozen on the tracks and the streets have been filled with people.
To control the difficult situation in Petrinja, the Croatian army has sent 300 soldiers to help. Prime Minister Andrei Plenkovic also travels there.
In Slovenia, the earthquake was felt strongly in Ljubljana, Nova Gorica, Ptuj and Mežica. The Krashko nuclear power plant has been closed as a precaution. The session of the National Assembly was interrupted after the building suffered damage. The deputies published photos of the destruction.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that there is no data on injured Bulgarian citizens. The authorities are evaluating the material damage. The earthquake was also felt in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia.
