A new stronger earthquake in Croatia

A new strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter scale was registered in the territory of Croatia, according to data from the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center. There were also several aftershocks with magnitudes between 3 and 3.5 on the Richter scale.

According to our embassy in Zagreb, the earthquake had a magnitude of 6.2 on the Richter scale with its epicenter in the area of ​​the city of Sisak. The earthquake was also felt in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The epicenter was located 46 km southeast of the capital Zagreb and 9 km from the city of Sisak at a depth of 10 km, according to data from the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

Scared citizens took to the streets of Zagreb after the earthquake, Reuters reported. There is evidence of damage to buildings. No casualties were reported.

According to Croatian media, all mobile networks in some parts of Croatia have collapsed.

The earthquake was felt in Banja Luka, Zagreb, Vukovar and Split, and people reported on social media that they had felt the earthquake even in Belgrade and Austria. The authorities are evaluating the material damage.

There is no data on Bulgarian citizens injured in the earthquake, the Foreign Ministry announced.

Yesterday, three strong earthquakes shook the Croatian towns of Petrinja and Sisak, causing material damage and panic among the population. The strongest earthquake was magnitude 5 according to the Zagreb Seismological Institute – 5.2 according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center. The first earthquake was followed by two secondary ones with magnitudes of 4.7 and 4.1.

After the earthquake, cracks in buildings and fallen tiles were noted in Pokupsko municipality in the area of ​​the epicenter. According to the Hina agency, material damage was also caused to Sisak.

The European Commission has expressed its willingness to help the country.
