Prime Minister Boyko Borissov continues with the inspections, as together with Regional Deputy Minister Nikolay Nankov they control the renovation of the Meshtitsa dam.
He was confident that repairs to the dam would be ready in January. The company carrying out the reform explained that they have been reinforced.
Borissov said it was one of the dangerous old dams and Nankov, in turn, said 208 had been handed over for repair.
A representative of the construction company explained that there are more than 400 on the list and 208 have been assigned to them.
The company assured him that they had already approved more than 180 dam repair projects across the country. They are currently actively working on 65, with 15 lists, and by the end of January they expected to have between 30 and 40 prisoners ready. The walls were being reinforced everywhere.
“It’s a drought now, but there have been years of flooding and these dams are the buffers,” he said.
Studena Dam was packed to the max, Borissov added.
