A group of Bulgarian citizens is blocked at Edinburgh airport, Scotland’s second largest city. They were supposed to fly to Bulgaria in the early afternoon, but were not allowed, writes BG VOICE.
A video appeared on social media in which they threatened airport employees, complained that Bulgaria was not doing anything for them, yelled “mafia” and wanted to go home for the New Year holidays as soon as possible.
According to the comments below the shared images, the airport staff asked them for updated PCR tests and justified themselves by saying that there were still restrictions on leaving the country for people who did not meet the conditions.
The measures were introduced after the appearance of the new strain of coronavirus in the United Kingdom. Thus, Bulgaria stopped flights from the United Kingdom, but then announced that it would resume them, but those who arrived would have to be quarantined for 10 days.
Subsequently, those present at Edinburgh airport wrote that after the intervention of our embassy, they were admitted on the flight to Bulgaria. The Foreign Ministry has not yet officially confirmed it.
