President Rumen Radev will deliver his New Year’s speech in the square so that the protesters can hear him; This proposal was made by the participants in the anti-government protest in the capital tonight in the Plaza de la Independencia, BNR reported.
The protesters announced that they are currently preparing two actions, one for December 31 and one for January 13:
On the 31st is the big party, and on the 13th we will sweep! Give up! There are quite a few people who are here every night and they don’t give up, fully aware of what they are here for; They know that we need an urgent change, because every day the GERB government puts us in a deep black hole and Bulgaria is literally in danger of dying. If there are Bulgarians left, then we have to fill the square, “the protesters said.
The march of the protesters started from the Triangle of Power and continued with the resignation sung in the streets and boulevards of Sofia, Frognews reported. They demanded for the last time the resignation of the Boyko Borissov government and the chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev.
The protesters knelt in front of the monument to the Apostle of Freedom. Archimandrite Dionysus prayed for Levski, as that day the Apostle was arrested by Turkish troops at the Kankrin Inn.
With shouts “Borisov is a disgrace: resign and imprisonment!” the protesters headed to the University of Sofia and Eagle Bridge.
“It will be like this every day until I quit!”, “Mutri, out!” chants continued in “Russian.” Protesters blocked traffic at the rector’s office, Frognews added.
