The current coronavirus pandemic will not be the last. This was stated by the Director General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adanom Gebrejesus.

Increased investment in healthcare systems, with the support of governments and society, will help “our children and grandchildren inherit a more reliable and sustainable world,” Deutsche Welle said, quoted by him.

In the past 12 months, the coronavirus has turned the world upside down and had long-term consequences for society and the economy, Gebreyesus said. He recalled that several years ago there were warnings about a pandemic and that we must learn from what happened, BGNES reported.

States must be better prepared for emergencies, not only in the field of health, but also in society and governments in general, stressed the Director-General of WHO.
