The construction of six new sites for the needs of special operations forces at the base of the specialized training center in Tsrancha is progressing rapidly.
It is being built with the 6 million BGN allocated by the government and will be completed in March. Joint exercises are planned there with the most elite formations from the US, Britain, France and other partner countries.
“We are delivering on what we promised. We have such a nice test site in this region,” Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said during his visit to the center, quoted by the press service of the Council of Ministers.
The construction is in accordance with the latest modern standards. It will have a medical center, gym, training room, chapel, dining room for 250 people.
“Make the barracks, we will do whatever is necessary for the modernization of the training center,” Prime Minister Borissov told the military, adding that they will be provided with the ammunition necessary for training.
The Prime Minister noted that the special forces will be equipped with new military vehicles, armored vehicles of the highest class. For this purpose, the government allocated almost BGN 50 million in November and the Ministry of Defense signed a contract with the Bulgarian manufacturer of Samokov “Samel-90”. According to him, 98 machines of 10 types will be acquired for different purposes. The plant, which Prime Minister Borissov visited in November, exports to Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and even the Chinese military. The company is the largest in the country in the field of defense electronics industry.
The leaders of the Special Operations Forces expressed their satisfaction that they were soon equipped with new helmets.
They also expect to receive night firing devices, which are Bulgarian-made. The military has said it is ready to lead by example by getting vaccinated so we can fight the pandemic quickly.
