While Queen Elizabeth II of England traditionally sent her Christmas greetings to the British on the national BBC and ITV, this Christmas island viewers were shocked. The Queen’s digitally created “double” shared her thoughts on the holiday on Channel 4. The fake video aired today at 3:25 PM local time (5:25 PM Bulgarian time), while the Queen’s real holiday message started at 3:00 PM (17.00 Bulgarian time) on BBC and ITV. Britain’s “Channel 4” notes that the purpose of its experiment is to show and educate viewers what “manipulative credibility” fake news can achieve thanks to modern technology.

The queen’s five-minute message addressed a number of controversial issues, including the decision of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Megan Markle, to leave Britain. And the decision of the Duke of York, Prince Andrew, to resign from his royal duties earlier this year after an interview he gave to the BBC about his relationship with tycoon Jeffrey Epstein, accused of various sex crimes. Later, Epstein committed suicide in his cell.

The fake video is also directed at Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson. The fake queen explains that 2020 was also a year of heroes and points out that this is the health workers who treated Johnson and have not yet become pregnant. The British Prime Minister is known to be the father of many children.

Here is the full text of the message, from the digital Isabel II:

“For almost seventy years, I have a tradition of talking to you at Christmas.

So, I’m grateful to Channel 4 for giving me the opportunity to say what I want without anyone putting words in my mouth.

The main theme of my message today is trust. Trust what is real and what is not.

2020 was a challenge for everyone. A year in which most of you, thanks to a shortage of toilet paper, have finally understood what it feels like to have difficulties on the throne.

One of the things that has sustained us this year is our families. This is why he was so sad about Harry and Megan leaving. There are few things more offensive than someone telling you that they prefer the company of Canadians to being with you.

But at least I still have my beloved Andrew around. It seems unlikely that it will head to North America anytime soon.

2020 was also the year of heroes. So are our brave healthcare workers, many of whom have been forced to take incredible risks, such as Boris Johnson’s treatment, realizing that they too can be pregnant at any time.

As is often the case, technology has helped us meet the challenges we have faced this year.

Like most of you who haven’t participated with your husbands on Netflix and Phil, as I like to call him, I have perfected my Tick Talk movement.

In fact, there is something that I am excited to share with all of you. I have strict orders from Philip not to do it, but because he fell asleep in front of “Sam at house 2”.

… would you mind (takes my phone)?

(Talks to studio team) Could you put that camera a little back? They are all ready?

(The dance continues …)

If that doesn’t make me more strict, I don’t know what else could.

Thank you (sits back behind the desk after the dance).

Much of our world today comes to us through these screens (with a phone in hand). Which brings me back to the question of trust, if what we see and hear is always what it seems.

In my name, your queen, and everyone at Channel 4, I believe you will have a happier Christmas.

(They remove the digital effect and show the actress’s face, located in a studio in the so-called green box).

It was good? Can I have a cup of tea now? The actress asks the team.

Deep false

The so-called “deep fake” technology can be used to create completely fictional video content and is most often used to spread speculation.

The voice of this fake will be dubbed by British actress Debra Stevenson.

“The voice is a pretty bad attempt to introduce himself to her. What makes the video disturbing is the use of video technology that tries to synchronize the queen’s lips with the spoken words.”commented the BBC correspondent.

The fake video was created by the Oscar VFX Framestore studio hijacking.

British Channel 4 indicated that through this video it intends to give a definitive warning of what can be achieved with fake news in the digital age.
