Andrei Raichev: Borissov collapsed in August, barely survived – Politics

Nobody wins the war with the coronavirus. There will be a change that will require new faces. We have not reached the end of this story. We can see how this war affects our politics. This is what the sociologist Andrey Raichev commented.

He explained to BTV what is expected for Bulgaria in the coming months.

“It is likely that the ruling coalition will become a pre-electoral coalition. They will try to reach the maximum. The IMRO does not have the strength to enter parliament alone.”

Raichev described what the future could look like for GERB.

“Mr. Borissov achieved a 60% situational rating in April. Then he collapsed. In August, it seemed to be over. At the beginning of September, they themselves wanted to resign. They narrowly survived. So now he achieved average stability. In all the polls are the main party. They have every real chance of being number one again, “he said.

The trio and Maya Manolova cannot be an alternative to Borisov, the sociologist believes.

“Their fate will decide if they can join. No one gives them more than 5-6%. No one doubts Trifonov. Most people target 400-500,000 people,” the sociologist commented.

According to him, at the moment there is no big party in our country, only medium ones. He admits the possibility that after the parliamentary elections in March it will not be possible to form a government and seek another option. However, Borissov does not want a president’s office, Raichev recalled.

Regular presidential elections will likely take place in November next year. The sociologist pointed out that it would not be profitable for Ninova to give up support for Rumen Radev for a second term. Raichev believes that he has changed parties.

In his analysis, the sociologist did not fail to mention the support that Turkish President Erdogan has given the MRF. Raichev admits that this could revive Ahmed Dogan’s party, which performed extremely poorly in the last election.
