Bulgaria will donate part of each shipment of COVID-19 vaccines, which it has purchased directly from producers, in North Macedonia. Thanks to this friendly act, with this donation we will soon start the vaccination process and facilitate access to vaccines so that we can vaccinate between 60 and 70% of the population. According to information from the Bulgarian health authorities, the vaccine will be delivered to Sofia first. In addition to a donation from Bulgaria, vaccines will be provided to North Macedonia through the Covax mechanism.

The European Union has provided 400 million vaccines to member states and an additional 100 million to non-EU countries.

“Until now, Poland and Greece have offered this type of assistance to our southwestern neighbor. North Macedonia is negotiating with manufacturers the direct delivery of vaccines and of them,” Filipce wrote.
