PIF vocalist Dimo ​​Stoyanov passes away

The vocalist of the Bulgarian group PIF Dimo ​​Stoyanov has died. This was confirmed to NOVA by his relatives. He was hospitalized in Sofia with a coronavirus.

We remind you that on December 9, a call for donation of blood plasma was published on the group’s Facebook page, since his condition was serious. The next day, the band announced that a blood donor had been found and that the musician’s condition had stabilized. However, the singer did not manage to overcome the disease.

The PIF group was founded by Dimo ​​Stoyanov and Ivan Velkov in 1992 in Varna under the name Resemblence. During this period his music was in English and his main performances were in Hungary.

Since 1999 they have been playing in Sofia under the name PIF (Patriots In Fashion), together with Emilian Bonev, Zhelyaz Zhelyazov and Lyubomir Petkov. In 2000 they released their debut album “PIF”, which is very popular and contains some of their most famous songs: “Fairy Tale”, “Wheel” and “Travel”. This album also gives them the MM TV Award for Album of the Year.

Their album Pictures In Frames was released in 2002. The musicians retired to a villa in Rila for a few weeks to record the album, explaining its specific sound. The album was created in a difficult period for the band (Dimo has personal problems and Lubo leaves the band). The song Confusion was also recorded, but is not included in the album.

In 2006, the album Passion In Fact was released, which was available for free download from its official website.

“Welcome home”: PIF band with a new musical performance

In 2010, the musicians of PIF (with the exception of Dimo) join the VOXX project of Said from D2.

Their fourth album is called PIF4 and it was released in 2013. Its cover is composed of 1000 photos of fans, during this period Yuri Bozhinov and Martin Profirov joined the group.

In 2015 they released their fifth album PIF5. Before its release, the band challenged fans to write a song and record a video.
