Bulgaria temporarily suspends flights to and from the UK

The decision was made at a working meeting of the Council of Ministers.

Flights between Great Britain and Bulgaria will be temporarily suspended until January 31 due to the new strain of COVID-19, the government press service announced.

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov called a working meeting regarding the new strain of COVID-19. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ekaterina Zaharieva, the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rosen Zhelyazkov and the Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov.

Quarantine for all those arriving in our country from Great Britain and Northern Ireland (REQUEST)

The meeting discussed how Bulgaria should react to the new strain of coronavirus found in the UK.

After a 10-day quarantine was introduced today for all persons entering the territory of Bulgaria from the UK by order of the Minister of Health, at the meeting with the Prime Minister it was decided to temporarily suspend flights from Great Britain to Bulgaria and from Bulgaria to Great Britain starting tonight: from 00:00 on December 21, 2020 to January 31, 2021.
