A month ago, it became clear that the prosecution had the ambition to file the indictment in mid-December, because otherwise Christian would have to be released by Monday at the latest.

The prosecution sued Christian Nikolov for the accident with Milen Tsvetkov

The law establishes that a person can be detained with a measure of “detention in custody” for up to 8 months if no charge is filed against him. According to the indictment, the case was classified as particularly serious because, in addition to being under the influence of a cocktail of drugs, Nikolov was driving his powerful jeep at 99 kilometers per hour, which is twice the speed limit. He did not try to stop and endangered the lives of many pedestrians crossing in front of Milen Tsvetkov’s car at the time.Milen TsvetkovMilen Tsvetkov was born on July 30, 1966 in Sofia. If convicted, Christian Nikolov could face 15 to 20 years in prison or life in prison.

“I know he has caused trouble and he will serve his sentence. Do you expect him to say something else?” Said Burya Pesheva, grandmother of Christian Nikolov.

So far, Christian has repeatedly sought to be released from custody, but the court has refused to release him, arguing that if he is free, he could commit another crime and go into hiding.
